1 Corinthians 1:26-29

Consider your own call, brothers and sisters: not many of you were wise by human standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth. But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong; God chose what is low and despised in the world, things that are not, to reduce to nothing things that are, so that no one might boast in the presence of God.

We are not notable for what we know. None of us have any great claim to a comprehensive understanding of how God works. Think back on your own life in faith. Were you convinced to follow Jesus solely because someone made a convincing intellectual case to you? God chose us. Our call is to point to the presence of God in Christ. It’s not about what we know. It’s more about who we knowIt’s even more than that. It’s about who knows us! It starts with God. The God who knows us through Jesus Christ.
